Why is everyone calling me Connie all of a sudden?
"Sure thing," Constance affirmed as she snapped her book shut, scarcely having time to read even a couple of lines. She approached the cabinet in which some first aid supplies were stashed, rummaging through it until she came across the hydrogen peroxide. Shutting the cabinet behind her, the teenager reapproached Nasiri and handed it to her.
"There you are," Constance said. She approached her seat and plopped down once again, flipping her book back open. Finding where she had left off before the interruption, she resumed.
"Why are boys always so prone to nosebleeds? Honestly..."

"Considering that you didn't have to do that, I suppose gratuity is in order... so, thank you.", Halex said to both Nasiri and Constance. The big was feeling the redness of his face fade away, the butterflies in his stomach disappearing along with it. However, little did he know, that the blush remained across the bridge in his nose and across the top of his cheeks. Almost in a stripe. Halex kept his legs crossed for safety's sake.
He didn't know what to do now, so he stayed put. Perhaps I should speak... No, I shouldn't. I'd rather not interrupt Constance from her book. He stared at her for a moment, distracted. Wow, she's pretty. I don't know why I find her so intriguing... It's not even beauty that seems to get me... There's something about her... Halex caught himself. He returned his gaze to the floor in front of him, staring blankly. He started to daydream. He thought about Constance and Nasiri... and... No. I really need to stop doing that.
Halex finally decided to speak. "So... I must admit, I've seemed to have lost any topic to discuss. What of you, Nasiri? I'm sure you're full of interesting... subjects.preview

"Because I can," Nasiri absently answered Constance's unspoken question as she cleaned up the mess. Her line of work had given her a lot of practice in cleaning off blood from leather and leather-like surfaces. She hadn't quite read the girl's mind, but that sort of peculiar irritation and Char's offhanded mention clued her in. Nasiri had called her by the pet name just to see how she'd react.
"I'm sure I am," Nasiri said to Halex, "and in a few years you might, maybe find out about some of them." She smiled, though whether she was mocking him or to soften the blow was hard to tell. She could tell he was starting to develop an attraction to Constance. That could provide a lot of fun later on. Nasiri glanced at her and applied a gentle mental nudge to Constance, manipulating the younger woman's mind to try and get her to warm up to the thought of Halex. Her being so introverted was boring. Nasiri was quite deft at what she did; not even Char noticed when she tinkered with his mind, and he had some of the best defenses she'd encountered before. Whether or not it worked on Constance . . . well, that would be interesting to see.
"But you'd have to hit puberty first, sweetie," she said to the Hapan boy with poisoned sweetness.

Oh-ho... she went there. I didn't think she'd go there. He felt a little pain inside knowing she got him. But Halex wasn't one to give up so easily. He liked to fight fire with fire. "Oh, I'm sure. But I'm not all that excited to find out what you've been filled with. " He smiled.
His facial expression was that of a smile, but you could see that Halex realized he might be struck by something. He removed the cloth from his nose, the bloodflow diminished. However, if anything was going as Halex predicted, his nose would be broken. And yes, bleeding.post

"I'm morally certain you never do, sweetie," Nasiri replied, not skipping a beat. "You'll be even more of a disappointment to the girls if you knew how . . . inadequate you are." She frowned at him in mock contemplation, pursing her lips thoughtfully. "Though I think you might enjoy finding out first-hand," she said after a moment. She seriously considered using the Force to project certain 'impressions' into his mind, but that was going a bit too far - even for her. "You do strike me as being kind of . . . girly."

Halex nearly choked on the pain. It was funny at first, but now this was actually hurtful. Halex didn't want to find out first-hand. He wan't going to allow her any leverage on himself like that. I don't understand what her deal is. I thought she was nice at first, but I guess I was wrong. It didn't matter. "Girly... Wow. I thought I was a bit of an ass. I guess I was wrong. See ya later."
Halex got up, grabbed his pack, and headed into the storage area. He could relax there, and he didn't think anyone would bother him.post

Nasiri sighed as the kid fled, trying to hide his 'unmanly' tears. She should have picked up on the kid's delicate temperament. She also knew that if Char caught wind of this - and that little narc of a computer wouldn't pass up the opportunity to make her look bad - she'd hear no end of it. The petite redhead watched him go, then waited a few minutes to let him compose himself. If she knew anything about little boys - and all men were little boys at heart - it was that they hated to have someone wound their pride by walking in on them when they were having a good cry.
"He's in the cargo bay," Phoenix commed to Nasiri. Sometimes that computer could be scary-smart. Not for the first time, she wondered if there wasn't more to the ship-mind than met the eye. Nasiri had never even heard of a droid that could predict people that well.
"Thanks, hon," Nasiri commed back as she stood up. "I'll go see about patching things up with him," she said to Constance as she walked out.
Nasiri padded up behind Halex with the practiced silence of a woman who had made a living infiltrating and assassinating the wariest targets in the underworld. Instead of slitting his throat or putting her stiletto in the back of his brain or through his ribs, however, she settled down next to him and threw an arm around his shoulders to pull him in for a chaste hug. She didn't want the little pervert getting the wrong idea about this overture.
"I'm sorry, sweetie," Nasiri said gently. "That was mean of me to say."
