I'm waiting until the Jedi and Alliance's role in the galaxy situation are more fleshed out before making my character. He will be Jedi, though, and be at least a little related to Rosh from SWRP.

The Jedi will be fairly apolitical - they're working for peace and order, not for any faction, as the galaxy's currently in a state of barely-not-chaos and declining rapidly. The only ones they're really opposed to will be the Sith Order, as the Sith are fomenting trouble in order to better accomplish their goals of galactic domination.
The Jedi are, ironically given their apolitical nature, fairly closely tied to the Hapans. They're also close to the Alliance and Galactic Empire, and have some outpost enclaves in the Ascendancy.
I've yet to put much thought to the Alliance, but if the other factions are any indication they'll be pretty fractious as well.
