Technical Name: Phase IV Imperial Knight Armor Manufacturer: Imperial Department of Military Research Model: Imperial Knight Armor Affiliation: Galactic Empire Composition: Phrik alloy, durasteel, cortosis, ballistic gel, armorweave Classification: Body Armor Weight: 14 kg Description: Imperial Knight armor is standardized, though each suit is tailor-fitted to the individual Knight. Drawing heavily from the Stormtrooper Armor, ImpKnight Armor shares many components with it. However, the crimson plates are laminated phrik alloy rather than armorplast, while the gauntlets are composed of pure cortosis, and the overall quality of manufacture is much higher. The Imperial insignia is imprinted on the left shoulder pad and the right gauntlet. The armor is of the highest quality, lightweight and extraordinarily durable. The armor plating is resistant to lightsabers, able to take several shots from a blaster or slugthrower, and even the body glove can absorb a surprising amount of punishment. The gauntlets are particularly dangerous to lightsaber-wielding opponents, as they can cause lightsaber blades to short out briefly on contact. |
- Armor Plating: The phrik-enhanced durasteel is rated for three blaster pistol shots to a limb, and five to a torso or about half as many blaster rifle shots. It is much better against slugthrowers, save for those specifically designed to penetrate armor. The armor is also quite resistant to lightsabers, a useful and effective protection against the Imperial Knights' main foes - the Sith and their Disciples.
- Cortosis Gauntlets: Armored gauntlets that protect the entire hand and forearm, these are made with refined cortosis alloy. They are not only able to withstand lightsaber strikes, they can shut down lightsabers that hit them for up to several minutes.
- Body Glove: The body glove has zersium-impregnated ballistic gel packets providing near-total protection, the packets being sandwiched in between layers of armorweave. The gel is excellent against very nearly any melee weapon except lightsabers, while the armorweave disperses blaster bolts and even provides some protection against lightsabers.
The body glove is also environmentally sealed, providing protection against extremes of heat and cold, radiation, corrosive environments, biological, and chemical attack. - Helmet: The helmet's sensor package includes a MFTAS that provide a targeting assistance program by painting target reticules on the HUD, multi-spectrum imagers, and the ability to see through smoke, darkness, and other low-vis conditions. The helmet also has advanced breath filters, a built-in comlink with encryption and multi-band communication capabilities, and a voice-amplifier. It also has automatic polarizing and anti-flash lenses that protect against intense glare and sonic filters that protect against intense, loud, and disabling sounds.
The Imperial Knight helmet is identical to that of the Imperial Stormtrooper save for its composition. - Utility Belt: A high-tension wire, two grappling hooks, four spare blaster power packs, three ion flares, energy rations, a spare comlink, three water packs, two medpacs, two blast energy sinks, a thermal detonator, a combat de-ionizer, and binders.
- Backpack: In addition to the 30-minute supply of air and the power pack located in the backplate, the ImpKnight armor includes an assault pack designed to carry additional equipment necessary for particular missions. The backpack is rated to carry in excess of 100 kg; generally speaking, it is only the physical capabilities of the individual Knight that limits it.
