SKILLS:
- Zei'ira is an excellent starfighter pilot, and has a decided love of most anything that flies fast.
- Zei'ira is proficient with blaster pistols, and while not a crack shot is good enough to reliably hit her targets.
- Zei'ira is a skilled mechanic, and does almost all of her own maintenance on her fighter.
- Zei speaks Twi'leki, Cheunh, Basic, Huttese, Lekku. Zei'ira is literate in Twi'leki, Cheunh, and Basic, though her Basic is her worst and sometimes gives the impression of her being semi-literate. Being as she is a native of Ryloth and was raised speaking Twi'leki and Cheunh, she speaks Basic with a noticeable accent.
APPEARANCE
Zei'ira is about average height for a Twi'lek woman, taller than most Human females. She's slender, with a svelte physique that has curves in the right places - and more attractive to Twi'leks, who all have svelte physiques with curves in the right places, she has long, shapely lekku that reach down past her hips. Her skin is a deep blue, darkening to an indigo on her back. She has bright green almond-shaped eyes and delicate facial features.
Zei'ira typically wears a midriff-baring top and hip-hugging pants; Twi'leks don't have the same taboos and hang-ups about 'proper' dress that most Humans do. She wears little jewelry, as piercings tend to get ripped off in a fight and she really doesn't want unsightly scars, but she does wear a golden amulet given her by her boyfriend.
PERSONALITY
Cocky, roguish, and charming, Zei'ira is a courier pilot just like pretty much every other cantina rat flygirl on the Outer Rim - at least, on the surface. Her confidence is justified, as she's an excellent pilot and loves to fly. She's good-hearted and honest, but despite being friendly, easygoing, and getting along easily and well with people she really doesn't bond with them. It's not that she doesn't like them, it's that she doesn't really care about them. Zei'ira hates to be told what to do and dislikes being controlled, a free spirit who lives without attachment as much as possible. She tries to be a decent person,
BIOGRAPHY
Zei'ira was born on Csilla in 506 ABY during the turbulent years of the Imperial Civil War. Her childhood was not unpleasant due to the Imperial Civil War and the rise of the Sith, but rather because of her parents. Her father was abusive, while her mother was a spice addict. Zei'ira grew up in an environment with little affection or love, something that tells in her present relationships and interactions with other people. It certainly didn't help that she was a Twi'lek in the Chiss Ascendancy.
When Zei'ira was fourteen, things in the Ascendancy began to get too hot for her family. Her father was political, attempting to jockey for better position in the party, but succeeded only in drawing unwanted attention to them. Her father was abducted by the Loyalists, which her mother took as suggestion that it was past time for them to leave. A Chiss friend of her father's, Kamorge, helped smuggle Zei'ira and her mother out of the Ascendancy with him and his teenaged son Sagk. Only a year older than Zei'ira, Sagk was very much a fish out of water on Ryloth - a situation rather familiar to the Twi'lek girl. The two drew closer together, especially after they discovered a mutual love of flying, and both joined the Imperial Navy to become TIE pilots together when they were eighteen years old.
Zei'ira washed out of the Imperial Naval Academy her first year in, though she stayed long enough to begin learning how to fly a TIE Interceptor. Zei was a natural at flight, but not so much at the disciplined and regimented lifestyle intrinsic to the military. She was constantly in conflict with her superiors, usually the low-scale stuff common to cadets who had problems with authority figures. Her instructors, wise to the ways of the galaxy, were willing to work through it - after all, Zei was an excellent pilot and a genuinely good person. She wanted to be a pilot - she really did - but it just wasn't to be.
Zei'ira Secura was dismissed from the Academy at the beginning of her second year, expelled for 'conduct unbecoming'. She does not go into the exact details involved in her expulsion, but they are both sordid and unpleasant. Sagk had been caught spying for the Chiss, and when he tried to get away in a stolen TIE Marauder he was shot down - by Zei'ira herself, in a second stolen Marauder. She was implicated in enough of Sagk's espionage that the Empire felt her too compromised to serve, barring her from re-enlistment and putting a black mark on her name. Heartbroken, Zei'ira returned to her homeworld where she bought a military surplus Chir'daki starfighter and took up a job as a courier who specialized in transporting small cargos and individual passengers rather than bulk transportation. She spent the next couple of months immersing herself in that work, transporting material for the black and gray markets with a specialty in operating on the periphery of Sith space.
GEAR
- FWG-5 Flechette Pistol: Also known as a smart pistol, this is a handheld flechette launcher manufactured by Malaxan Firepower Incorporated. Smaller and easier to handle than most flechette launchers, it has the stopping power of a heavy blaster pistol or blaster rifle. Loaded with flechette-filled pellets rather than heavy canisters, and it features a miniature laser tracking system that tagged targets with an electronic homing signature. This enables the weapon's pellets to track and follow the target's movements and make course corrections in flight. Upon reaching a range of three meters from the target, the pellet explodes releasing twelve-millimeter-long micro-flechettes in a shotgun blast with a radius of about a meter and enough force to pierce blast vests and Stormtrooper armor. The pistol has an optimum range of fifty meters with its guidance from micro-repulsors, while the maximum range is about one hundred meters in standard gravity. The flechette launcher has an eight-round magazine.
A dual-mode weapon, the FWG-5 is also capable of firing a thermal bolt that has the stopping power of a blaster pistol. It derives about sixty-two shots from a power pack loaded in the pistol grip and has an optimum range of twenty meters and a maximum range of one hundred meters before the bolt loses cohesion.
SHIP
Zei's ship is a Chir'daki, known in Basic as a Deathseed fighter. A fighter that combines X-wing s-foils with a TIE cockpit, each Deathseed is a finely-crafted aftermarket modification built in manufactories on Ryloth. Zei's has an expanded cockpit, letting her carry a passenger and transport more cargo than most fighters its size.
ROLE-PLAYS:
- None.
