The Sith Empire can trace its origins back to the Red Sith native to Korriban, back to the Golden Age of the Sith through the Order of the Sith Lords and the One Sith. Its current incarnation manifested publicly when the leader of the Imperial Knights revealed himself to be a Sith Lord - and announced himself as the true heir to Emperor Palpatine. He was popular with the military, and the years had faded the sting of the Sith and Palpatine's evil, leaving only the memory of the strength and prosperity under his reign. Some suspect that the Dark Lord is somehow capable of manipulating minds en masse through the Dark Side of the Force, but in truth it is little more than clever propaganda that has seen the Dark Lord transforming the people and the culture of the worlds almost entirely during and especially after the war. The Dark Lord modeled his Empire on the culture of the ancient Red Sith, including a strict caste system with the Sith Lords practically worshipped.

The Sith Empire performed excellently in the early stages of the war, as they had a distinct advantage in troop numbers and the Force powers of the Dark Lord's disciples. They began churning out dark armor and alchemical augmentations for their troops, an advantage that grew steadily over the course of the war. However, the Hapans and Alliance forces joined the Galactic Empire to push back the Sith legions. Despite their aid, the Empire suffered a dramatic defeat at Kuat and was forced to sue for peace. The Sith permitted the war to end so that they might solidify their hold on their territory - and prepare for the next stage of the war.

The Sith are a potent military force, as the Dark Lord has scoured his worlds for Force-sensitives to induct them into service, indoctrinating them into the Disciples of the Dark and permitting the very strongest to seize a place among the Sith as the new nobility and aristocracy of the Empire. The Dark Lord instituted a policy of alchemically transmuting the Force-sensitives into Sith Purebloods as he indoctrinated them into the cult, transforming them into his willing, loyal servants. With that core, he moved on to transforming his Stormtroopers into Massassi and lesser troops into hulking, near-mindless Massassi mutants. Sorcery and alchemy pervade Sith society, almost as prevalent as the indoctrination, subliminal messages, and propaganda that has turned formerly free people into devoted slaves of the Sith Lords.
