Ar'tre

STRENGTHS:
Extremely good pilot and an excellent shot. Thinks outside of the box and solves problems ingeniously. Sure of his lot in life. Able to socialize in the highest, most upright dinner parties and gritty cantinas both. Convincing liar and deceiver. Has few vices.

WEAKNESSES:
Tre is incapable of keeping up physically with other species. Lacks extensive funds. Has a weakness for a good gambling match. Sometimes overly ambitious and takes on too much at once (however he is not cocky). Lacks street credibility and sometimes naïve. Price on his head for 20,000 credits by loan sharks based out of Nar Shaddaa. He is a low-level bounty, and his relatively average appearance allows him to blend in, but a hunter looking for him could find him. He counters this danger by moving across the galaxy, never staying in one place for long.

SKILLS:
One of the best pilots in the galaxy, and knows many tricks, implementing both the unorthodox and military maneuvers. Proficient in piloting many different classes of starship, and also is skilled in weapons tactics. Knowledgeable about military and government procedure, and loopholes through both. Proficient gambler. Good at spinning deception. Knowledgeable about social protocols in various levels of society. Skilled mechanic and has had engineering schooling.

Bottom line is, many things Tre may be, but one thing he isn’t and never will be is an incompetent pilot.

APPEARANCE:
Average in appearance for his species. Green scaly skin with black eyes, skinny body with both antennae fully functional. No scars, tattoos, piercings, etc. Fits into a crowd well. Wears a spacer’s jacket (black with a brown leather collar, “Captain” over left breast) over a standard white shirt. Wears a standard brown utility belt holding his basic equipment.
Has an Imperial brand mark, a medium sized S, on his left breast. Covered by clothing.

PERSONALITY:
Tre is quiet and unassuming, always taking in the galaxy that he views as vast and large. He is always trying to learn more. Disciplined because of his military background, his sole vice of gambling comes out of a perceived “financial necessity.” He lacks the brittle personality of many other independent pilots, coming out of a fresh upright background. He acts hardened on the outside, but inside still retains most of the traits of his upright background. Tre still believes in adhering to the “right path.” Although he usually runs solo, he is also a good leader and can work well in a team.

BIOGRAPHY:
Ar’tre was born to Zix and Kuli, two wealthy employees of the famed Roche Hive Mechanical Apparatus Design and Construction Activity for Those Who Need the Hive's Machines. The second of many offspring, Tre quickly learned he was not cut out for the corporate life. Upon completing secondary school, he decided to seek the life of adventure and excitement and enrolled in the Galactic Alliance Space Academy.

At the academy, he quickly found a home and engrossed himself in the military culture there, becoming a budding young pilot. It was there that his true skills in piloting and shooting became apparent, whereas they had been suppressed in studies of arithmetic on Roche. Top of his class, Ar’tre was rearing to finish his final year at the academy and burst into military action when trouble struck.

His eldest brother died suddenly of disease, and as a result his parents wanted him to return to carry on their families legacy in working for Roche. Crushed, Ar’tre returned to Roche on leave to convince his parents he would never be able to be happy working in a corporate environment. Enraged at his refusal, his parents cut him off from their family after long arguments and ceased their paying for his Academy tuition. He was disowned by his family, so that his younger brother could instead receive the inheritance as he was willing to work at the company.

Depressed, he returned to the Academy to finish the only thing he had left in life. To pay for tuition, he naively allowed himself to enter into manipulative contracts with a group of loan sharks he believed to be a legitimate agency. When the payments grew to ridiculous amounts, he realized the trouble he was in. Knowing this agency had the power to strike him down even in the ranks of the military, he knew that even his lifelong dream of deployment would soon, also be taken.

Graduation week, after completing his courses, Tre deserted to take on a risky charter mission taking weapons past an Imperial blockade. His pilot’s salary, had he been commissioned as planned, would not have been enough to pay off his debts, and he viewed himself skilled enough to complete this mission. He also justified the illegal activity as a military action against his enemies, the Empire.

He failed to sneak past the blockade, and his ship was disabled by an ion blast and he was taken prisoner. Tortured by soldiers in detention, he was sentenced to a prison world and was branded with a “S” on his left breast, for smuggler. His antennae were also scheduled to be disabled.

His brother, sympathetic to his situation (he also considered his parents overbearing), and also not blaming him for his choices, paid a large sum to bribe corrupt officials on the prison world to allow him to escape - Tre's personal tenacity was no small part of this either. While on the planet for weeks, Tre quickly hardened, his innocence, idealism, and naivete fading away. His brother informed him he could do no more without risking his parents wrath and suffering a similar disownment, and having used up a considerable amount of his personal resources to free him, wished him the best lot in life.

His final gift became Tre’s most valued possession, a heavily customized Ghtroc Class 720 freighter. With that final gift, and only with his skills, Tre set out to make his way out into what he was now learning to be a cold and unfair galaxy, but still was determined to experience those adventures he had so dreamed about.

Constantly seeking ways to earn more creds to add to a growing account, Tre plies the various criminal hellholes, taking on quick charters and plying the sabacc and pazaak tables.
