- 625 can interface with computer systems through micro-wires extruded through her skin, and though she lacks much experience with slicing she's programmed for some capability at it. 625 is also able to tap into power supplies the same way, either providing power for a device or draining the device's power to charge her own systems. This energy is not to be confused with the Force energy which 625 also requires.
APPEARANCE
Talyn appears to be an attractive near-human female, one with perhaps some Red Sith heritage. Talyn has copper skin marked with red Sith tattoos, black hair, leaf-shaped ears, and golden irises with slit pupils. She has high cheekbones and features somewhere between delicate and sharp, with long fangs in place of eye teeth on her top and bottom jaw. She wears her hair in a braid that comes down to the small of her back, but will wear it loose when trying to pass herself off as something harmless.
Talyn has a slender build, standing 5'3" tall and weighing one hundred and ten pounds (159 cm and 50 kg). Her body is a mix of machinery and living flesh brought together through her creator's mastery of mechu-deru. It has given her exceptional strength, endurance, and agility that far surpasses what her small frame should be capable of. She exists as much on Sith sorcery as she does energy, food, and water, and is able to draw on the Force to grant her more strength and fighting prowess at the cost of her vitality. She is thus immune to poison, disease, and fatigue, but she requires regular maintenance to remain in fighting trim.
Talyn wears a snug-fitting long-sleeved reddish-black leather jerkin over her upper body. The jerkin is made from a thin and supple but tough reptilian skin, with large scutes on the upper back fused into a flexible plate. Smaller scutes form plates on the chest, and the armor stops just below her rib cage to leave her midriff bare. Talyn wears a pair of bracers and thigh-high boots made from the same hide. She has a harness made of dark brown leather straps, and a belt made of the same material. The belt and harness both meet with large ovoid golden plates decorated with red gems that glow a malevolent inner light, matching the plates on the backs of her hands and the gem decorating the choker around her neck. The plates are ornately wrought in an abstract, almost tribal design. She has a skirt made of black cloth wrapped around her waist, with a knee-length panel in front depending from the belt buckle.
Talyn wields a pair of red-bladed lightsabers and a vibroblade. She keeps the lightsabers secured in her bracers and her vibroblade worn on a sheath on her back, angled down and out to allow a natural, easy draw without hampering her movement.
PERSONALITY
Talyn is quiet and withdrawn, though she is surprisingly perceptive. Social conventions and niceties escape her, even among the warlike Sith culture. Relkor Zhen had heavily conditioned her to be a loyal servant, an unfeeling automaton whose only desire was to perform the duties he commanded of her. Though Talyn has broken that conditioning, hers is not a vivid personality.
Talyn is cold, even callous, with little regard for life (particularly her own) but will give opponents a clean death. Talyn does not enjoy killing, exactly, and she certainly does not enjoy torturing her opponents. She tells herself that it's because of the inefficiency of it, and it's not because it bothers her. Talyn is ruthless, possessing a certain tireless determination that can unnerve opponents. When frustrated or sufficiently annoyed, though, her cold demeanor can fracture and reveal the seething fury beneath the ice.
Talyn lacks subtlety in all that she does; when ordered to kill someone, she will simply walk up and kill them. No finesse, no tact, nothing but a brute-force solution to a problem.
Ralkor Zhen forbid her from learning certain skills - particularly mechanical skills - in order to ensure her dependence on him. Talyn is reflexively dependent on her support personnel, expecting their assistance without having really thought about why they would help her. The thought of saying "Please" and "Thank you" is a foreign one to her. This has given her something of an imperious, aristocratic air - but not in a good way.
Talyn loathes herself, only seeing herself as a Sithspawned monster, an abomination and a crime against nature. She has a visceral hatred of anything relating to her creation - cybernetics, Sith alchemy, and (especially) the combination of the two. She doesn't know, precisely, what she is - she thinks she's a cyborg who was mutated with Sith alchemy, and has no idea there was a Shard grafted into her brain.
BIOGRAPHY
The creation of the mad sorcerer Ralkor Zhen, Talyn is the result of his experiments in creating the ultimate soldier - strong, powerful in the Force, and utterly loyal to him. Ralkor Zhen built hundreds of different Experiments, most of them organic brains in a mechanical body. Finally, the Dark Lord he served acquired a most unusual crystal through a scout surveying the unexplored territories for new worlds. Ralkor Zhen claimed this crystal, sensing the way the Force flowed through it almost like a living being, subjecting it to numerous alchemical experiments before he discovered that it could interface with a droid frame. He implanted the crystal in the body of a Sith assault droid, using his expertise in mechu-deru to inextricably link the two. The experiment was marginally successful - Zhen managed to make a droid servant who was at least sensitive to the Force, but not powerful enough for his tastes. He began experimenting with living flesh, culling it from slaves around his palace and imbuing it with the Force through Sith alchemy. At first the results were zombie-like, a hideous amalgamation of metal and rotting meat, but he finally hit upon a method to keep his creations alive through an internal life-support system. He acquired a Force-sensitive slave girl and almost literally tore her body apart, replacing most of her brain with the Force-sensitive crystal, her skeleton with the droid frame, and installed droid components inside her torso before closing the whole back up with the Force. The end result was Talyn's final form, a powerful warrior with an innocuous appearance.
That was eight years ago. Talyn has served her master well as a bodyguard and assassin, using her appearance as a common Grutthu slave to dissuade attention that a warrior would attract. Of course, her tendency to cause spectacles of gore has led to Ralkor Zhen preferring to use her for his own protection - or to hunt down a lesser target - than to assassinate his own rivals.
Experiment 625 was steadfastly loyal to her master, Ralkor Zhen, and her only desires were to obey his commands - he had programmed and brainwashed her to be his servant. After an extended mission off-world, too far for his powers to reach, though, she came out of her normal weekly rest cycle with what could only be described as a crippling identity crisis. One fragment of her remained Ralkor Zhen's loyal servant, but there were other aspects that awoke within her. The echoes of the slave girl, defiant even as Zhen carved her bones out, resounded with the Shard's long-suppressed memories. Her conditioning thus broken, Talyn descended into something of a mindless psychotic fury. She killed the other servants of the Sith accompanying her before fleeing into the wilderness, where she lived as an instinctive predator while she struggled to make sense of her own mind. After several weeks, however, the accumulated wear-and-tear was beginning to take its toll and her sanity started to assert itself again. Talyn knew she couldn't truly return to Ralkor Zhen's service - but she knew she couldn't operate alone, either. Talyn returned to the rendezvous point and made contact with her 'master', signaling him to send out a shuttle to collect her.
As her assigned technician, a fellow abductee and prisoner of the Sith, worked on her, Talyn broached the subject of escape. Together, they concocted a plan.
GEAR
- Dark Armor: Talyn's armor is a snug-fitting long-sleeved reddish-black leather jerkin over her upper body.
The armor is alchemically-imbued dark armor, granting its wearer resistance against both physical and Force-based attack and provides an augment to their physical strength as well. - Sith Lightsabers: Talyn has two identical lightsabers, both with 90-cm red blades. Each lightsaber has a single synthetic crystal and a synthetic focusing lens, disrupting emitters, rylith power cells, and a grip made from alchemically-imbued durasteel. The blades tend to flicker a bit and have an unusually loud buzz, but produce enormously unpleasant and disruptive cascading signals in the nervous system of targets struck.
- Vibroblade: This short, curved blade has a mullinine edge and, like many Sith weapons, is imbued with the Force so as to resist lightsabers.
ROLE-PLAYS:
- Talyn's Escape - Where Talyn escapes Targaris Station.
